SUMMARY:Senior Coffee Hour
DESCRIPTION:Please join as we continue our discussion about caregiving. Most of us\, either by choice or necessity\, will become the primary caregiver of someone we love\, or we ourselves will require a caregiver. When we have friends and family who are caregivers\, how can we support them? If you are a caregiver now or have been in the past\, what help would be/was most needed? We will focus on generating a list of ways we can help caregivers. \nFor this session\, be prepared to brainstorm some of the barriers we might encounter in caregiving/care receiving and some possible solutions to these barriers. We will explore together how we can prepare to find or give what is needed. All of us together are smarter than any one of us. As we brainstorm from our collective experiences the results can be brilliant! \nSeniors living in Cornish\, as well as those in Plainfield and Meriden\, are warmly invited to attend. Caregivers\, family\, and friends are also welcome. CAIP volunteers will set up coffee and tea for attendees. CAIP’s goal is to provide our seniors with social time\, stimulating conversation\, and helpful information related to aging. \nSocial coffee hours are held on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am\, and themed coffee hours are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2:00 pm\, and both at the Masonic Hall in Cornish Flat.
