DESCRIPTION:All are welcome \nBill Noble\, long time friend and sometimes resident of Cornish\, will do a presentation: \nThe Plantsman’s Paradox: Too many Plants\, Too Little Self Control \nThe focus is on spring and early summer flowering perennials and shrubs. Bill is the Director of Preservation for the Garden Conservancy and has been instrumental in the preservation and restoration of gardens throughout the US\, as well as developing and maintaining his garden in Norwich. He is author of a 2020 book Spirit of Place: The Making of a New England Garden. In this he describes the pleasures and challenges of creating a garden that feels deeply rooted to its place. \nAll Cornish Garden Club presentations are free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Presentation by Executive Councilor\, Karen Liot-Hill from 6:45 – 8pm. \nCouncilor Karen Liot Hill represents 81 cities and towns in New Hampshire’s Executive Council District 2. Drawing from her 20 years as a former City Councilor\, she will discuss the burden of local property taxes and how decisions in Concord affect us at the local level. The Executive Council exercises oversight of state government\, including voting on all state spending over $10\,000\, giving Karen a valuable perspective. As she says\, “When the state cuts the budget\, property taxes go up. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging presentation on Ukraine with Dr. Joshua Duclos. \nDr. Duclos will share insights from his recent time in Ukraine\, where he served as a volunteer teacher and lecturer at several universities during the war. He also worked in a kitchen preparing meals for soldiers. Drawing on these firsthand experiences\, Dr. Duclos will offer an accessible overview of the conflict\, including its origins and development. \nDr. Duclos is the 1923 Chair of Humanities at St. Paul’s School in Concord. He holds an MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago and a PhD in philosophy from Boston University. A former Fulbright scholar\, he is the author of numerous articles in moral and political philosophy and the book Wilderness\, Morality\, and Value (Lexington\, 2022). \nThis program is free and open to the public.
