We often need to help each other in a community! Here are various calls for assistance and volunteers for Cornish community activities.
Initiative Film & Foam Recycling Effort
Now that the Cornish Recycling Center is accepting #6 polystyrene foam (Styrofoam) and flexible plastic bags on a regular basis, we need volunteers to help with bringing the foam to the Gilford Recycling Center in a rented U-HAUL truck every few months and the flexible plastic bags to Hannaford’s every month or so.

Supplies Needed!
Hello all, the Meriden Community Camp is turning 20 this year! We have tons of fun STEAM activities planned for our campers and we need your help for some materials. We are trying to use recyclable materials for most of our activities, so perhaps we can have yours. Please drop off materials at Meriden Congregational Church Parish House, clearly labeled for Meriden Community Camp or email Rosa Sousa Camp Director at camp@meridenucc.org for pick up.
Buttons (all kinds of buttons, big or small, wooden, plastic) the more interesting the better.
Cardboard tubes (toilet paper, paper towels)
wooden dowels (small dowels between 6″-12″)
cardboard egg cartons
paper plates
toothbrushes (ok if used- we will sanitize everything)
butcher/bakery string
toothpicks (lots and lots of toothpicks)
q-tips
bird seed
chicken wire (1 roll should suffice)
clear plastic plates, bowls, cups, etc…

Fair Volunteers Needed!
The Cornish Fair is looking for volunteers to chair 3 departments for the open exhibits in the school gymnasium – art, crafts and fancy work. This will require your time on Thursday, Friday and Sunday of Cornish Fair weekend (August 18-20 this year). You will be supported as you learn the ropes and judges have already been secured for this year. You will receive a 3 day pass for the fair plus parking privileges. This is a great opportunity to be involved in and give back to our wonderful community. It is important to have these positions filled early in the year as planning for the fair is ongoing.
