A talk by Ethan Cole of Earthshare Construction and Ryan Hereth of Geobarns
Brought to you by the Cornish NH Energy Committee

VIA ZOOM ONLY

This talk will explore:

  • What makes the most durable, energy efficient building envelope.
  • How to safely & economically achieve building tightness.
  • The best wall and roof assemblies money can buy.
  • Vapor barrier vs. air barrier – differences & importance.
  • How best to seal around windows & other framing transitions (wall to roof).
  • “Continuous insulation” & the pros and cons of different types of insulation.

This is Part II of our Building Science Educational Series. It dovetails perfectly with the previous talk about how condensation moves inside buildings. These two experienced green builders will discuss the fundamental principles of high performance energy efficient building, and how those principles can be applied to weatherizing existing homes. This talk is for builders and homeowners alike.
