Senior Walk

Hello! My name is Ruth Bassette and I live in Cornish Flat. I am hosting a walk for Cornish seniors at the Cornish Elementary School beginning on Thursday, January 11. Seniors living in Plainfield and Meriden are also welcome, as are care-providers, and anyone who wants to come, have fun, chit-chat, and walk!. The walk will be from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm in the gymnasium.

Come to the gym via the back of the school, up the hill past the Town Garage. Signs will direct you. DO NOT enter from Town House Road. People may be dropped off at the gym door. Parking is above, behind the school. Do respect the coming and going of cars in that area.

NOTE: No boots or hard-soled shoes. Sneakers are best; this is a gym floor. You may wish to bring a water bottle as the water at the school is not drinkable.

Walking is a great exercise. You should warm up a few minutes before walking. I will lead a few stretching and leg bending for the first 3 minutes. Then you can walk and chat all you want. When the whistle blows, reverse your walk direction.

This Senior Walk will be held every Thursday until April. Note: if school is cancelled due to bad weather, the walk will also be cancelled.
